PORTAGE — Katie Scott hit a three-run home run, and Olivia Janosik and Cam Matlin each had three hits for Central Cambria as the Lady Devils defeated Portage, 14-1, in the championship game of the Mayhem on the Mainline high school softball tournament on Sunday. Lady Huskies go extra innings to win at Penns Valley

SPRING MILLS — Bishop Carroll scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning and beat Penns Valley, 5-3, in high school softball action on Wednesday. The teams were tied 2-2 heading into the eighth inning after BC’s Paige Landis singled in Addison Myers in the second inning, and Ali Heinrich homered in the fourth. In the eighth, Myers singled in Mary Golden, and Emily Olienyk doubled in Ema Sheesley and Golden to give BC a 5-2 lead. MARTINSBURG — The Central softball team evened its record at 2-2 Tuesday, thanks to an 11-7 win over Tyrone in high school play. The Lady Dragons, who led 6-0 after four innings, got three RBIs from Riley Peterson and two each from Madison Kennedy and Kaylee Kensinger. One of Peterson’s hits was a home run.
