Peterson helps Glendale earn win

FLINTON -- Glendale slipped past Central, 3-2, in high school softball action on Monday.

Madison Peterson gave up six hits while striking out eight for the Lady Vikings. Jayden Fry drove in two runs, and Ava Weld belted a solo home run.

Alexis Fetzer went 2-for-3 for Central, and Madison Kennedy allowed just three hits while striking out eight.

Panthers get no-hit

MORRISDALE -- Makena Moore tossed a five-inning no-hitter to lead West Branch past Penn Cambria, 10-0.

Moore struck out 13 and walked one for the Lady Warriors (4-1). She also had two hits and two RBIs to go with two RBIs each from Mackenzie Mactavish and Carysn Wesesky.

LOYSBURG -- Palynn Gregg struck out 10, walked three and scattered four hits to lead Bellwood-Antis past Northern Bedford, 12-1, in five innings.

Kat Garman and Cam Focht each drove in three runs on two hits for Bellwood (1-4), which scored seven runs in the fourth inning.

Kaylee Ebersole doubled and scored for the Lady Panthers (1-6). Madison Lemin had two hits.

Portage outlasts Windber

PORTAGE -- Portage's Payton Noll homered twice and drove in four runs to lead the Lady Mustangs to a 19-13 slugfest win over Windber in a game that featured 25 hits and 20 errors.

Paige Phillips added three hits and scored three times for Portage, and Rheanna Boland had two hits and three RBIs.
