Lady Huskies go extra innings to win at Penns Valley

SPRING MILLS -- Bishop Carroll scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning and beat Penns Valley, 5-3, in high school softball action on Wednesday.

The teams were tied 2-2 heading into the eighth inning after BC's Paige Landis singled in Addison Myers in the second inning, and Ali Heinrich homered in the fourth.

In the eighth, Myers singled in Mary Golden, and Emily Olienyk doubled in Ema Sheesley and Golden to give BC a 5-2 lead.

Penns Valley scored one run in the bottom of the eighth, but Golden closed out the game to earn the win.

MARTINSBURG -- Central erupted for 11 runs in the first inning and raced past Johnstown, 15-0, in two innings.

Winning pitcher Madison Kennedy delivered three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs, Alexis Fetzer contributed two hits, including a double, and drove in three, Bralyn Ellis belted a solo home run, Kaylee Kensinger collected three RBIs, and Norah Bechtel drove in two runs.
