Curve squander ninth-inning lead
BOWIE, Md. — Connor Scott made one of the great catches ever for the Curve to help win Saturday night, but the team got handed a crushing blow Sunday afternoon at Bowie. Altoona led by a run entering the bottom of the ninth, looking for a series split. Then the Baysox sent the Curve home hugely disappointed with a two-run, walk-off homer for a 5-4 win at Prince George’s Stadium. The loss was a bad one for the Curve’s playoff chances, as they are now 6¢ games behind co-leaders Bowie and Erie in the Southwest Division with only 18 games left to play.
