There's a good time for a rainout and a bad time for a rainout, and Sunday was the latter for the Curve, both on and off the field.
Altoona has won four games in a row and was looking to make it five straight against a bad Harrisburg team. But instead, rain forced the game to be canceled at Peoples Natural Gas Field, and it will not be made up since the teams don't play again this season.
Off the field, the Sunday night contest would have drawn a big crowd, especially with postgame fireworks.
The Curve ran their winning streak to four Saturday night with a 7-4 victory over Harrisburg. Altoona scored five runs in the sixth inning to erase a 2-0 deficit. Jared Triolo and Blake Sabol had two hits apiece, and Aaron Shackelford had two RBIs.
The Curve's hot streak has them at 24-20 in the second half and 57-56 overall. But now comes a big test this week with a series beginning Tuesday at Bowie. Altoona went there last month while it was playing well, yet got smoked in losing five of six as the Baysox clobbered Curve pitching.
