BOWIE, Md. -- The Curve bats gave Bowie quite a battle Thursday night, but once again, the arms just weren't good enough to slow down the Baysox.
Altoona dropped a slugfest, 11-8, at Prince George's Stadium, falling to the Baysox for the seventh time in the past nine meetings. In those seven losses, the Curve have allowed Bowie to score 70 runs.
The Curve ripped three homers, including No. 24 for Aaron Shackelford, and twice scored three runs in an inning. But all of that offensive support wasn't enough as Bowie also hit three homers — two by Connor Norby — and finished with 14 hits.
Nick Gonzales hit his first homer since returning from injury for the Curve. Endy Rodriguez continued his torrid hitting since coming up from A-ball, running his hitting streak to all 12 games he's played and belting his fourth homer.
Starter Aaron Shortridge gave up five runs for the Curve, who fell behind 5-0 after three innings before rallying to tie. Bowie then scored twice off reliever Jeff Passantino (2-2) in the fifth to take the lead for good.
