Trump didn’t follow law with pardons

As a person who respects the rule of law, I was appalled to learn about one of Donald Trump’s first decisions as president. Unconditionally pardoning the 1,500-plus rioters who stormed the Capitol, and then were found guilty of doing so, flies in the face of all of us who support the rule of law. Such a foolish and brazen move is not surprising for this president, a convicted felon himself. American voters put Donald Trump in office. Recognizing the deference senators, representatives and the Supreme Court majority show to President Trump, this means the federal government rests almost exclusively with him. We created this ultra-centralized situation. We have the duty to demand government actions comport with our values. Under the Biden-Harris administration, these bills were passed — the American Rescue Plan, The inflation Reduction Bill, The PactAct for Veterans, The Chips and Science Act. Prescription prices were lowered for seniors, over 16 million jobs and 35,000 infrastructure projects were created. Manufacturing spending grew over 200%, lowest unemployment rate since 1969, the GDP is now at 4.9%, the stock market went from 19,000 to 42,000. Time to honor our common humanity

I was involved, before the election, in reading and writing a summary of the provisions of the 992 pages of the document called Project 2025. I found the document to be full of ideas that were chilling to me as someone who grew up in a free society that espouses equal rights for all. I feel the need to weigh in on the recent criticism of Dr. Silverman’s comments and observations of public figures. I believe the author, without realizing it, was referencing the Goldwater rule. The American Psychiatric Association Principle of medical ethics states that psychiatrists have a responsibility to participate in activities contributing to the improvement of the community and the betterment of public health. I have never understood poetry. It seemed to me that most of what I have read was written to serve the thoughts of the writer and the reader was left to guess the meaning. I was never good at deciphering the meaning. Except with Poe.
