Inclusion is tolerance for religious identities

At the National Prayer breakfast on Feb. 6, President Donald Trump announced that he has appointed his Attorney General to come up with a task force to get rid of “anti-Christian bias in federal government.” What is curious about that is when he declares war on DEI, does he not know that the word inclusion means tolerance and acceptance of all religious identities? It’s been more than two weeks since Donald Trump took the presidential oath — with his hand conspicuously not on the Bible — the grifter’s equivalent of a kid crossing his fingers behind his back, while pretending to “swear to God” he is telling the truth. Flexible Instruction Days a family burden

I am writing to express concerns about our district’s implementation of Flexible Instruction Days (FIDs). As both a parent and community member, I believe this policy requires immediate review due to its impact on educational quality and equity. The current FID structure significantly compromises the quality of education our children receive. Hispanics, Latinos too often stereotyped

I hope it’s not intentional, but lately there have been condescending references to Hispanics and Latinos. While often used interchangeably, “Hispanic” refers to people with ancestry from Spanish-speaking countries, including Spain, while “Latino” refers to people with origins from Latin America, which excludes Spain and includes countries where languages other than Spanish may be spoken, like Brazil (Portuguese); basically “Hispanic” is based on language, while “Latino” is based on geographic origin. Faithful newspaper carrier not forgotten

Something strange happened near the beginning of January; our daily newspaper wasn’t on our front porch like it always is just waiting for us to retrieve it. We decided to read it online and go about our day, but commented several times how odd that was that it never came. The next morning, as we always do, we went in search of the paper, only to find it not arriving again.
