Tigers boys, girls triumph

Caden DeLattre won the long, triple and high jump for the Hollidaysburg boys track and field team in a 117.5-32.5 win over Penn Cambria on Thursday in high school action. The Lady Tigers were also victorious, winning 117-33. The Panthers were led by Josh Stolarski, who took first in the 100, 200 and 400. On the girls side, Hollidaysburg got three wins each from Emily Clapper in the 400, long jump and triple jump. Penn Cambria was led by Kyra Vinglish in the shot put, discus and javelin. MECHANICSBURG — The Altoona Area High School girls track and field team opened the season with wins over Chambersburg (87-63) and Cumberland Valley (104-46) on Tuesday. Hailey Kravetz won both hurdles races, Ashlynn Noce won the 1600- and 3200-meter runs, Triumph Kilmartin placed first in the high and triple jumps, and Kihlee Noel won the shot put and discus. TYRONE — The Tyrone Area High School boys and girls track and field teams opened the season with victories over Saint Joseph’s Catholic and West Branch Friday. The Tyrone boys topped Saint Joseph’s, 139-6, and West Branch, 125-24. The Lady Eagles beat Saint Joe’s, 101-39, and West Branch, 106-33.
