TYRONE -- The Tyrone Area High School boys and girls track and field teams opened the season with victories over Saint Joseph's Catholic and West Branch Friday.
The Tyrone boys topped Saint Joseph's, 139-6, and West Branch, 125-24. The Lady Eagles beat Saint Joe's, 101-39, and West Branch, 106-33.
Brady Ronan won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and long jump for the Tyrone boys, Aiden Detwiler won the 800 and 1600 runs, and Cian Hockenberry placed first in the shot put and discus.
Rebecca Lewis won the 100 and 200 dashes for the Lady Eagles, Bree Paul won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Nicole Ramsey placed first in the long jump and triple jump, and Kylee Nelson won the high jump and discus.
