MARTINSBURG — A nine-run sixth inning completely broke open the contest for Altoona in a 17-4, six-inning victory at Central Thursday in high school softball play.
Jayda Yost delivered four hits and drove in three runs for the Lady Lions, while Kaya Sprankle smacked a home run as part of her three hits and collected three RBIs.
Natalie Baker, Aleeya Rowles and Emma Klein finished with two RBIs each, while winning pitcher Charli Schneider posted nine strikeouts and three walks for Altoona.
Hailey Fries blasted a two-run homer and tallied two hits for the Lady Dragons, while Addison Moses ended her day with two hits.

Red Devils cruise
EBENSBURG — Abigail Claar blasted a two-run homer and solo home run to help Central Cambria cruise to a 19-1, three-inning victory over Bishop Carroll.
Kylie Ferguson also delivered two hits for the Lady Red Devils, which finished with with eight hits.
Hannah Strittmatter and Amirah Rey had one hit each, while Raigan Myers knocked in the lone run for the Lady Huskies.
