Kaya Sprankle

Kaya Sprankle went 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs as Altoona toppled Cedar Cliff, 7-3, in high school softball action on Wednesday at Logan Elementary Field.

Jayda Yost also powered Altoona’s offense with two hits and three RBIs, and Emma Klein and Katie Bettwy each had a hit and RBI.

Charli Schneider struck out five and gave up just five hits, no walks and two earned runs over seven innings for the Lady Lions.

Maddy Bilus went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for Cedar Cliff.

CRESSON — Riley Wiencek went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and three RBIs to lead Somerset to a 15-1, five-inning victory over Penn Cambria.

BC beats Ferndale

EBENSBURG — Bishop Carroll picked up its second victory by scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away from Ferndale, 12-8.

Adison Myers led the Lady Huskies with four hits and two RBIs, Raigan Myers collected two hits and three RBIs, and Claira Myers chipped in with two hits.

Hannah Strittmatter gave up just four hits and struck out nine over seven innings to earn the win.

Brynn Hyland homered for Ferndale.
