TYRONE — The Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team clinched the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference East Division regular-season title with a 5-0 win over Tyrone on Wednesday. Area volleyball teams both handed setbacks

CARLISLE — Altoona suffered a three set loss to Carlisle on the road by scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-19 in boys high school volleyball Tuesday night. Mirror seeking nominations

The Mirror is seeking nominations for its annual high school sports recognition program. Area high schools are invited to submit nominations for the Ron Rickens Sportsmanship Awards, the Dean Rossi Leadership Award and the Erin (Johnson) Kelly Award, which recognizes the area high school athlete who has overcome the most adversity. The Rickens awards, which honor a deserving male and female athlete, are presented in memory of former local coach and referee Ron Rickens. Altoona tennis splits at own tourney

Dallastown defeated Mount Lebanon, 4-1, in the championship match of the Mountain Lion High School Tennis Invitational on Friday at the Herb Faris Courts at Mansion Park.
