HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Hollidaysburg Area High School boys and girls swimming team defeated Penns Valley on Monday in high school action. Andrew Shanafelt won 200-yard freestyle and 500 freestyle to lead the Tigers to a 110-37 win, and Addison Smith prevailed in the 50 free and 500 free events to pace the Lady Tigers to a 97-71 victory. EBENSBURG — Central Cambria and Hollidaysburg split its high school swimming meet on Wednesday as the CC boys won 105-65, while the Hollidaysburg girls came out on top, 98-72. In boys action, the Golden Tigers’ Kaden Henderson (200-yard individual medley and 100 freestyle) and Andrew Shanafelt (100 butterfly and 500 freestyle) were the only double winners. Helsel sparks AAHS hockey to win

Digest EBENSBURG — Cayden Helsel scored a deciding goal in a shootout Tuesday night to lead the Altoona ice hockey team to a 5-4 victory in high school action at the North Central Recreation Center.
