LHAC, Heritage name all-conference teams for fall

The Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference named its all-stars for soccer, tennis, golf, volleyball and cross country for the 2024 fall season.

In girls soccer, making the first team were Hollidaysburg’s Kate Steiner and Lauren Stevenson, Tyrone’s Briley Campbell and Marissa Cacciotti, Central’s Kira Trexler, Penn Cambria’s Meghan Anderson, Danielle Farabaugh and Central Cambria’s Ava Barra, Bella Duman, Abby McMullen and Katie Scott.

Second-team members included Bishop Guilfoyle Academy’s Hailey DeGol and Emma Marasco, Hollidaysburg’s Natalie Foster and Central’s Paiton Campbell, Central Cambria’s Linsey Evans and Katie Ford, Bishop Carroll’s Maya Sirsikar and Penn Cambria’s Chloe Karabinos.

Honorable mention status went to Hollidaysburg’s Bella Vent, Bishop Carroll’s Claire Long and Central Cambria’s Abby McMullen.

In boys soccer, the first team is made up of Hollidaysburg’s Micah Blake, Owen Naugle and Micah Helsel, Tyrone’s Nate Ellenberger, Penn Cambria’s Cayden Helsel, Nick Marshall and Duncan Gongloff and Bishop Carroll’s Daniel Farabaugh.

The second team is made up of Hollidaysburg’s Alex Arbogast, Bishop Guilfoyle’s Andrew Burke and Lincoln Dom, Tyrone’s Noah Gulvas, Central Cambria’s Jonathan Rivera, Tanner Archangelo and Landon Cuppett, Bishop Carroll’s Angus Ryan and Penn Cambria’s Carter Panic and Jackson Rice.

Getting Honorable Mention notice were Bishop Guilfoyle’s Evan Burke, Bishop Carroll’s Will Tremel and Penn Cambria’s Seth Conrad.

For girls tennis, Hollidaysburg’s Grace Muriceak was voted Most Valuable Player. She was joined on the team by fellow Lady Tigers Crosby Denis and Emma Moritz, Central’s Julia Ritchey and Kate Dunn, along with Central Cambria’s Lydia Paskowski and Marley Ratchford.

For girls golf, Bishop Carroll’s Sarah Miller was voted MVP. She is joined on the team by Lady Huskie teammate Kylee Yoder, Hollidaysburg’s Crosby Denis, Maliah Malausky, Lexi Peacock and Bishop Guilfoyle’s Ellie Wilson.

The boys golf team has Hollidaysburg’s Isaac Miller and Brody Partner-Gore on it, along with Bellwood-Antis’ Kane Wolf and Central Cambria’s Austin Semelsberger.

Girls volleyball first-team stars included Bellwood-Antis’ Addy Turek, Hollidaysburg’s Emily Clapper, Tyrone’s Kylee Nelson and Bishop Carroll’s Olivia Gregg.

Second-teamers included Hollidaysburg’s Kynlee Budny and Addi Basenback, Tyrone’s Rylan Crowell, Central Cambria’s Erica Brouse and Penn Cambria’s Loren Stipanovich and Sophia Rabatin. Honorable Mention status went to Central’s Dessa Boyles, Penn Cambria’s Addison Hite and Bishop Carroll’s Emily Olienyk.

For girls cross country, making the first team were Central Cambria’s Paige Alexander and Abigail Sheehan and Central’s Lanee Berkhimer. Hollidaysburg’s Rylan Carney and Katie Etters were named second team as were Central Cambria’s Keira Link and Alaina Sheehan.

On the boys side, Central Cambria got Ethan Haycisak, Dominic Kuntz and Reed Takacs on the first tem. Second-team members included Hollidaysburg’s Yvan Chen, Reuben Manfred and Sabastian Diaz, along with Central Cambria’s Miles Doyle.

Heritage

The Heritage Conference released its all-conference teams for several fall sports which included several athletes from Cambria Heights and Portage covering seven sports.

Making it in boys soccer were Ethan Kline and Landen Baker, while four players — Hannah Hite, Maria Wendekier, Kinley Rogal and Emma Spanik — made the girls team. In football, Trey Trybus, Luke Mulraney, Braylon Rydbom, Tristan Weakland and Jaxxon Kline were named.

Ian Nagle made the golf team while Mason Kline was named on the boys cross country team. Savannah Hoover made the girls cross country team. Maelyn Dutko was named for volleyball.

The Heritage Conference recognizes these individuals who have been selected by their school. Each school sets its own criteria for selection.

For Portage, the football team was represented by Issac Willinsky and Bode Layo, while Bailey Patalune and Jonah Irvin made it for the golf team. Logan Gentile and Nolan Westover were recognized for boys cross country, and Josephine White and Lily Haney made it on the girls team. Kylie Hess made it for the volleyball team.
