A bit more than a week ago I sent the following to John Joyce, Wayne Langerholc and Judy Ward seeking comment. I received a reply about purchasing flags from Joyce and Langerholc’s newsletter. I was interested in if they supported the actions which will cause millions of individuals to lose ACA coverage, including Pennsylvanians. Trump voters were not duped

In a Feb. 11 letter, Mr. Dodson complains that President Donald Trump didn’t have his hand on the Bible. He fails to mention the justice started the oath before his family was able to gather around him. There is no constitutional requirement to place your hand on the Bible. Dodson tries to blame Trump for the price of eggs and medication. Those prices were going up before Trump got elected. The CDC, NIH and the WHO lied to us about COVID-19. The CDC became political. Judge should rule in favor of audits

The activist first circuit judge in Rhode Island, John J. McConnell, has ruled that the administration cannot investigate for fraud unless it is aware of a specific fraud to investigate. That may be true in a criminal case, but this is not a criminal case. It is an internal audit. How can the government uncover waste and fraud if it cannot conduct internal audits? If the president’s lawyers can’t use that argument, they should be fired. If a judge doesn’t comprehend that, he should be removed. Trump will accomplish many good things

The letter, “Trump 2.0 fails to impress,” in the Feb. 11 Mirror is typical of persons who suffer from severe Trump Derangement Syndrome and would be funny if it were not so very sad. No matter what Trump does or accomplishes he will be vilified by people who literally hate the man. My advice to the writer is take a deep breath and pause, because Trump is going to be around for four years and will do many things that are good for America, which I expect the writer will hate just because Trump accomplished it. USAID funding freeze concerning

Although many of President Donald Trump’s executive orders are extremely troubling, the 90-day freeze on funding for USAID and an immediate halt to all federally financed domestic and overseas humanitarian programs is particularly troubling to me. Oversight and auditing of government funded agencies is necessary, but these tasks can be accomplished while the programs are still operating. Craters belong on the moon, not city streets

Natural gas lines throughout Altoona are being replaced. Anyone seeing what the old lines look like knows why they are being replaced. Watching the men doing this work, you realize it’s not an easy job. Yes, they have heavy equipment, but much of it is back-breaking hand digging. The problem occurs after they leave an area.
