Deanna Kay (Croft) Kurtz, 85, of Roaring Spring, died Wednesday morning at her daughter’s home after a brief illness. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (McGee) Croft. She married Eugene D. “Gene” Kurtz on Jan. 21, 1961. He died April 15, 2020. Virginia M. McNelis, 101, of Tyrone, passed away Monday. She was born in Tyrone, a daughter of the late Nial and Martha (Hopkins) Holly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Bam”; three sisters: Louise Kahler, Marie Kilmartin and Jeanne Miller. Surviving are daughters, Nila (Gary) Woomer and Virginia “Jenny” Snare; a granddaughter, Corinne Otis; and several nieces and nephews. Virginia attended Wesley United Methodist Church, Tyrone. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at noon Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone.
