Deanna Kay (Croft) Kurtz

July 14, 1940 – Oct. 29, 2025

Deanna Kay (Croft) Kurtz, 85, of Roaring Spring, died Wednesday morning at her daughter's home after a brief illness. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (McGee) Croft.

She married Eugene D. "Gene" Kurtz on Jan. 21, 1961. He died April 15, 2020.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Snider and husband, Bob, of Roaring Spring; a daughter-in-law, Rachel Kurtz, of Roaring Spring; seven grandchildren: Kristen Carrier (Chris), Matthew Snider (Shea), Justin Nesius (Amber), Ashlea Nesius, Andrew Kurtz (Emily), Shyanne Weyandt, and Alivea Kurtz; and 15 great-grandchildren: Landon, Raegan, Graclyn, Devan, Kathryn, Arianna, Lincoln, Jackson, Jovi, Dawson, Zayveon, Cameron, Addison, Zilo and Atreyu; a brother-in-law, Charles Kurtz (Sonn); two sisters-in-law, Gloria Dell and Bette Croft; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, David Kurtz; two brothers, Ronald "Jack" Croft and Sherm Croft; and two sisters, Carol Riley and Joann Hileman.

Deanna was a member of Bare Memorial Church of God, Roaring Spring, where she had previously served as a Sunday school teacher, Deaconess, Treasurer, and Secretary.

She was a 1958 graduate of Roaring Spring High School and also graduated from the Altoona School of Commerce.

Deanna had worked at First National Bank and the paper mill.

She loved spending time with her family.

Deanna had served on the Roaring Spring Community Library Board of Directors and was a member of the Roaring Spring Historical Society.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at the First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring; with Pastor Mark Halliday officiating. Interment will be made at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Deanna's memory may be given to Roaring Spring Community Library.
