Barbara L. Poorman (Gray) Koch, 90, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday morning at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Loraine, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert and Esther (Nolan) Poorman.
Barbara was a homemaker most of her life and later worked at Fashion Bug.
Barbara was twice married, first to Howard E. Gray on April 3, 1954, who preceded her in death on June 28, 1986. She was blessed to marry her second husband, Charles C. Koch II on Aug. 25, 1990, who preceded her in death on April 17, 2008.
She is survived by four daughters: Kim Beard (Dick) of Dillsburg, Karen Giornesto (Ken) of Pennsylvania Furnace, Kris Smith (Joe) of Altoona and Kerry Hostetler (Jerry) of New Philadelphia, Ohio; her son, Kyle Gray of Lakeworth, Fla.; a stepson, Chuck Koch (Cindy) of Altoona; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Ken Poorman (Mary) of Junction City, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Donna Poorman.
Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Kirk Gray; and stepson, Rick Koch; four siblings: Phyllis Koch, Lois Foor (Don), Gloria Siegrist (Tom) and Robert Poorman; sister-in-law, Bonnie Wilt; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Minnis.
She was a 1954 graduate of Altoona High School.
Barbara was a member at Christ Community United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 5715 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Lenore Hosier.
Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, 915 Hickory St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648; or Christ Community United Methodist Church, 5715 Roselawn Ave., Altoona.
