John Anthony Wojcik, currently living in Duncansville, is celebrating his 100th birthday today.

He was born on Aug. 13, 1925, and grew up in Barnesboro. He married Joyce Kline of Nicktown on Oct. 21, 1950.

John and Joyce were married for 65 years, living in Spangler. They raised three children: David, Diane and John. He also has two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.

Together, he and his wife operated a successful family business, Wojcik Jewelers in Barnesboro. He worked in the business along with his spouse and children until it closed in 2019.

In addition to being a successful business owner, he was a master craftsman at clock and watch repairs, continuing to do cuckoo clock and pocket watch repairs into his early 90s.

His hobbies include golf, travel, reading, crossword puzzles and playing the card game Cinch.

John was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Barnesboro and more recently attended Saint Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Nicktown.

John served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945.
