BLAIRSVILLE — The Cambria Heights girls had won the Heritage Conference regular-season championship and followed that up with the team title in the Heritage Conference Championship Meet on Tuesday at River Valley High School.

Heights, backed by Brielle McMillen’s triple-winning performance, won the 10-team meet with 120 points to edge out United (116) and Conemaugh Township (110). Portage was fourth.

McMillen placed first in the 100-meter dash and also won the long jump and triple jump. Heights, coached by Tammy Nagel, also received a first-place finish from Rachel McClellan in the 100-meter hurdles.

McClellan also finished second in the triple jump to McMillen and placed third in the long jump. Avery Crynock was second in the 400 dash, and Elyce Hilyer was runner-up in the 800 run. Heights’ 1600 relay was also second, and its 3200 relay was third.

The Portage girls were boosted by Kendall Bednarski, who placed second in the 200 dash and long jump, and she was third in the triple jump. Calla Miko was second in the shot put for the Lady Mustangs, and Josephine White was third in the 300 hurdles. The Portage girls also got a runner-up finish from its 400 relay.

United won the boys championship with Cambria Heights finishing sixth and Portage 10th. Josh Papcun of Portage won the 400 dash.

The Cambria Heights boys received a second-place finish from Mason Kline in the 1600 run, a third-place finish from Cam Dreibelbis in the 110 hurdles and a third-place finish from its 400 relay.
