Williamsburg Lady Pirates knock off Glendale in softball

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg built a 7-0 lead after three innings and hung on for a 13-10 win over Glendale in high school softball on Tuesday.
Jordan Flaig went 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Lady Pirates, winning pitcher Katie Ross had two hits, and Karsyn Walter, Bella Strohmyer and Alex Giansante each had two RBIs.
Elizabeth Kaufman went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Glendale, Leah Boslet drove in three runs, and Sophia Ball had two hits.

JV loses in semis
CLAYSBURG — Southern Huntingdon scored eight runs in the third inning and went on to beat Juniata Valley, 10-3, in the Inter-County Conference semifinals at Claysburg-Kimmel High School.
Ella Young, who threw a six-hitter to earn the win, belted a three-run homer in the third. Lydia Dell had three hits, including a home run, and drove in two.
Lexey Smith drove in two runs for Valley.
Southern Huntingdon later lost to Berlin Brothersvalley, 14-4, in six innings in the championship game.
