Hall helps Lady Hornets knock off Mount Union

MOUNT UNION — Winning pitcher Braelyn Hall struck out nine over five innings and walked two, while helping herself at the plate with two hits and two RBIs in leading Juniata Valley to a 10-6 win over Mount Union on Friday in high school softball.

Klohie Brown ended her day with two hits and two runs batted in for the Lady Green Hornets, while Bethany Devore and Kelsey Ersek bagged two hits apiece.

Highlanders rout PC

CRESSON — Winning pitcher Rylee Lane struck out five, gave up three hits, and had two hits and three RBIs to lead Cambria Heights to a 16-0, three-inning win over Penn Cambria.

Hallie Hayes delivered three hits for the Lady Highlanders who scored 10 runs in the first inning, while Margaret Elias tallied two hits and Autumn Groer pushed across two runs.

The Lady Panthers got one hit each from Emily Cully, Aubree Rickens and Logan Krug.

Lady Devils roll

BLAIRSVILLE — Central Cambria racked up 15 hits en route to a 15-1, five-inning victory over River Valley.

Katie Scott led the way with two hits, including a double, and four runs batted in for the Lady Red Devils, Camryn Matlin collected two hits and three RBIs, and Hayden Turner garnered three hits and two RBIs.

Rowyn Ruddek, the winning pitcher, posted three hits, Ella Neves added two hits, and Avery Biter drove in a pair of runs for Central Cambria.

Twinchek launched a solo homer in the first to account for the lone Lady Panthers’ run on the afternoon.
