Mitchell makes softball history at NBC
H.S. Softball
LOYSBURG — Mylee Mitchell picked up her 400th career strikeout for Northern Bedford in a 10-3 win over Everett Friday in high school softball.
Mitchell had 14 strikeouts for the game, and also hit a 2-run homer at the plate. Bristol Barton also had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the Lady Panthers’ 13-hit performance.
Callie Miller added a double for NBC, which is now 9-4 on the season.

Lady Tigers roll
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Leah Hammel fired a five-inning three-hitter to help Hollidaysburg down Penn Cambria, 10-0.
Mikaylah Vincent had two hits and three RBIs, Genna Peacock went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Hallee Chandler drove in two runs.

Eagles fall short
TYRONE — Tyrone scored twice in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t get another across to tie the game in a 3-2 loss to Forest Hills.
Sage Harris doubled for the Lady Eagles, which dipped to 7-4 on the year. Amariah Sprankle had the only other hit for Tyrone.
Pitcher Kaitlyn Rockwell allowed just four hits and didn’t walk a batter while striking out five.

Central falls late
MARTINSBURG — Central held a 3-0 lead after five innings, but they could not hold on to it in a 6-4 loss at home to Somerset.
Sofie Maldonado and Addison Moses smacked solo home runs for the Lady Dragons. Riley Peterson added a double and drove in two runs.
Payton Pollock doubled and knocked in three runs for Somerset, which improved to 9-3 on the season.
