Lady Tigers handed first loss

WILLIAMSPORT — The Hollidaysburg Area High School girls basketball team lost its first game, falling to Williamsport, 37-36, on Wednesday. The Lady Tigers led by seven after one quarter and three heading into the fourth quarter, but Williamsport rallied for the win. The Lady Tigers, playing without leading scorer Bella Vent, hit just 7-of-14 free throw attempts. Lauren Stevenson scored 16 for Hollidaysburg, and Clare Padamonsky scored 11. CARLISLE — The Altoona girls basketball team, down three at the half, used a 10-point scoring edge in the third quarter to claim a 51-42 victory over Carlisle Tuesday night in high school play.
