Scarlet Dragons’ defense clamps down on Bellwood

MARTINSBURG -- Leading by one after the opening quarter, Central won the middle two quarters convincingly to pull away from Bellwood-Antis for a 48-28 Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference victory Monday night in high school boys basketball action.

Eli Muthler led three Scarlet Dragons in double figures with 15, while Nick Garver recorded 13 and Brady Albright contributed 12.

Chance Schreier's 11 points was high for the Blue Devils.

BELLEFONTE -- Leading by eight at the half, Hollidaysburg used a big third quarter to pull away from Bellefonte in earning a 77-50 Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference victory.

Cole Walters knocked down six 3-pointers and totaled 24 points to lead the Golden Tigers, while Jake Hileman delivered 12, Kasen Metzger tallied 11 and Leyton Weimert added 10.

Evan Zehner paced the Blue Pirates with 12 points, while Jesse Brumbaugh notched 10.

Dom Jefferson led all scorers with 24, while Shaffer Early recorded 16 and Brayden Ramsey tacked on 15 for the Spartans.
