CARLISLE -- The Altoona girls basketball team, down three at the half, used a 10-point scoring edge in the third quarter to claim a 51-42 victory over Carlisle Tuesday night in high school play.
Melana Eyer's 14 points led four players in double figures as Raylin Eyer and Jaiden Krull recorded 12 apiece and Zaelinh Nguyen-Moore totaled 10 as the Lady Lions improved to 15-4.
Karrine Beamer scored a game-high 16 points to pace the Thundering Herd.

PATTON -- Cambria Heights was unable to hold onto a slight first-quarter advantage as it was outscored by United the rest of the way in a 45-33 Heritage Conference loss in girls basketball.
Sienna Kirsch was the lone Lady Highlander to reach double figures with 10.
Mollee Fry led the Lady Lions with 11, while Ashley Donelson and Maddison McGinnis tallied 10 apiece.

BCC duo shine
DUNCANSVILLE -- Caedmon Dull and Jonathan Marucci combined for 31 points as Blair County Christian picked up a 49-36 Allegheny Christian Athletic Association West Division victory over Great Commission in boys high school basketball.
Dull led all scorers with 17 points, while Marucci had 15 for the Bobcats. Charlie Lohsl led the Bears with 12 points while Alex Guise chipped in with 10 points.

Portage triumphs
PORTAGE -- Trae Kargo and Bode Layo both recorded a double-double to spark Portage to a 60-47 Heritage Conference victory over Northern Cambria in boys high school basketball.
Kargo led all scorers with 19 points and handed out 10 assists, Layo tallied 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Owen Gouse registered 10 points as the Mustangs improved to 11-7.
Ty Dumm led the 12-7 Colts with 17 points, while Caleb Dolney tacked on 14.

LOYSBURG -- Northern Bedford hung tight with Southern Fulton in the first and third quarters, but a 16-point deficit in the second and fourth proved to be the difference in a 65-45 loss in boys high school basketball.
Alex Kochara knocked down five 3-pointers and totaled 19 points to lead all scorers, while Wesley Horsh also reached double figures with 11 for the Black Panthers.
Ethan Mellott's 16 points fronted five Indians in double figures as Jett Burger recorded 14, Trentin Cain tallied 12, Sammy Stotler had 11 and Hunter Ward added 10.
