Slowik leads Bulldogs to baseball win

CLAYSBURG — Winning pitcher Dustin Slowik struck out seven over five innings of work and allowed just one hit to Southern Huntingdon in an 11-0, five-inning win for Claysburg-Kimmel Thursday in high school baseball play.
Mason Campagna drove in three runs on a double and home run to lead the Bulldogs’ offense, while Gavin Treon, Ayden Soler and Nate Fee came through with two hits apiece.

Huskies roll
JOHNSTOWN — Bishop Carroll pounded out 17 hits in cruising to a 10-1 victory over Greater Johnstown.
Winning pitcher Preston Gillin went the distance to strike out 12 and walk one, and also helped himself out at the plate with three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs.
Jack Tremel posted four hits and drove in two runs for the Huskies, Rocco Resick tallied two hits and two RBIs, while Ryen Myers, Ethan Holtz and Avery Conner recorded two hits each.

Highlanders survive
NORTHERN CAMBRIA — Cambria Heights scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning, and then got a scoreless pitching performance from Nolan Clawson in the bottom half to earn the 8-6 extra inning win over Northern Cambria.
Bryce Lewis singled and bagged two doubles en route to driving in three runs for the Highlanders, while Anthony Swander notched four hits and two RBIs.
Harrison Snyder accounted for three runs batted in on two hits for Heights, while Carson Lobick collected two hits.
