A pair of five-run innings by Chambersburg sent Altoona to a 14-7 loss on Thursday in high school softball action at Logan Elementary.
Jayda Yost homered as part of her two hits and drove in three runs for the Lady Lions, while Skyler Reed garnered two hits, including a home run, with two runs driven in, and Kaya Sprankle smacked two hits, including a double, for Altoona.

Tigers tumble
SIDMAN — Hollidaysburg got down to Forest Hills after the first quarter and never recovered in a 15-5, five-inning softball loss.
Leah Hammel had two hits for the Lady Tigers, while Rylee Murtiff collected two RBIs.

Mountain Lions lose
The Altoona boys volleyball team was swept in three sets by Cumberland Valley with scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-16 in high school action at the Altoona Area Fieldhouse.
Max Coon led the Mountain Lions with 10 assists, Caleb Terza had nine assists, Parker Huey-Kish came up with eight kills and Logan Coldwell posted seven digs.
