Athlete of the week achievement: Slowik threw a six-inning shutout and struck out three to lead Claysburg-Kimmel to its first District 6 championship since 2007 in a 10-0 win over Homer-Center. Slowik also went 1-for-2 at the plate and scored two runs.
Season update: Slowik is batting .273 with 17 RBIs for the Bulldogs and is 6-2 with a 2.55 ERA. He’s struck out 48 batters in 44 innings.
