CHAMBERSBURG — Bron Mosley won the shot put with a throw of 56 feet, 9 inches, and Ashlyn Noce won the 3200-meter run in 11:17.1 for Altoona at the Mid-Penn track and field championships on Saturday. UNIVERSITY PARK — The Hollidaysburg boys tennis team dropped a 3-0 decision to State College on Friday in the District 6 Class 3A championships held at the Penn State Tennis Center in high school play. “I am really proud of my guys,” said Hollidaysburg coach Brian Denis, whose club fell to 18-1. “We knew we had to play almost perfect tennis to have a shot, and for the first half of the match, we were playing lights out, looking good in three of the four matches that were being played. Hollidaysburg defeated Westmont Hilltop, 4-1, in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference high school boys tennis semifinals at the Summit Tennis & Athletic Club on Thursday. HARRISBURG — Altoona swept its way past Central Dauphin East with scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-21 in boys high school volleyball action Monday night. With the win, Altoona moved to 7-6 while CD East dropped to 4-14.
