Hinish captures Iron Masters golf event

ORE HILL — Spencer Hinish won the championship flight of the Spring Championship at Iron Masters Country Club with a two-round total of 143.
Ken Love was second with 158, and David Snyder was third with 161.
Tyler Jarratt won the first flight with 161. Chip Will was second with 162, and Mark Nycum was third with a 165.
Summit
CRESSON — The team of Jacob Martynuska, Brodie O’Donnell and Kraig O’Donnell won the Summit Country Club’s Spring Three-Man Scramble recently with a 64.
There was a three-way tie for second two strokes back. Those teams were Doug Labarko, Jeff Jones and Tony Mignogna, Steve Dupirack, Ron Shutty and Brandon Stephens, and Francis Pirozzola, Mike Reese and Terry Funcheon.
Huntingdon CC
HUNTINGDON — Two teams opened the 49th season of the Big Orange Golf League at the Huntingdon Country Club with 1-0 records earlier this week.
The Geoff Clarke-Ed Gargula and Keith Black-Alan Herbster teams finished on top. The teams of Phil Thompson-Larry Newton and Bob Lamey-Gerry Huggler went 0-1.
Lamey was the low gross winner (37) while Jim Lakso, subbing for Herbster, was the low net winner (35).
The shot of the day was Clarke’s 15-foot down side-hill birdie putt.
Hole-in-one
– Bernie Fabbri aced the par 3 12th hole at Summit Country Club with a 5-iron from 172 yards out. Fabbri became only the third person to make a hole-in-one on all three of the Summit’s par 3 holes.
The shot was witnessed by Ray Eckenrode, Ed Ivory and Ron Wissinger.
