Penn State Lady Lions basketball makes it a 2-0 start

UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State women’s basketball team improved to 2-0 Friday night, thanks to an 82-77 win over Cincinnati in area collegiate action.
Five Lady Lions scored in double figures in a game Penn State trailed after one quarter, 27-25. Penn State cut the lead to one point at halftime, 41-40, but used a big third quarter, 24-16, to pull ahead heading into the final frame up 64-57.
Sophomore Kiyomi McMiller finished the night with a game-high 20 points along with seven assists, five rebounds and five steals. Redshirt junior Gracie Merkle logged 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds as the Lady Bearcats were sent to their second loss in as many games.
The Lady Lions also recieved 18 points from Moriah Murray, including a 5-for-10 showing from 3-point land. Tea Cleante closed it out with 14 points in her freshman debut.
Fellow freshman Viktoria Rainisavljevic also added 10 points.
Penn State gets back at it on Wednesday morning when it hosts Coppin State at 11:30 at Rec Hall.
