Bedford third in ACM Tristate Math Contest
Allegany College of Maryland and the LaVale Lions Club hosted the annual Tristate Math Contest on Tuesday, March 24, with teams competing from Maryland and Pennsylvania.
The Bedford High School Team 1 came in third. Team members were Ezekiel Brambley, Sean Cessna, William Evans, Sydney Feaster, Samuel Koontz, Khiana Muir, Ellie Rose, Bruce Williams and Ethan Witt
Top 10 individuals from Bedford High School included: Ezekiel Brambley, third; Khiana Muir, sixth; Chloe Beltz, seventh; Chloe Pemberton, ninth; and Sydney Feaster and Bruce Williams, part of a three-way tie for 10th.
The LaVale Lions Club provided ACM scholarships to area juniors who demonstrated mathematical excellence during the competition.
Chorus, cheering, concert band, students lauded
The Heritage Conference recently announced the All-Conference Team for cheerleading, chorus and concert band.
Local students include:
Chorus — Esabela Flores and Sara Halerz from Portage Area High School, Gabriella Woodside from Northern Cambria and Lucas Snyder and Takota Bracken from Cambria Heights.
Concert band — Nathan Phillips and Tamia Caldwell from Portage, Haylee Nelson and Giovanni Turano from Northern Cambria and Max Wendekier and Alex King from Cambria Heights.
Cheering — Dahnay Sunseri from Cambria Heights, Carly Certo from Northern Cambria and Bella Scarton from Portage.
