Dr. J. Dennis “Doc” Flynn, 86, of Graystone Altoona, passed away Sunday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. He was born in Connecticut, son of the late James and Mary (Dennehy) Flynn. He married Betsy Constance in 1994. Surviving is his wife; daughters: Julie, Anne and Erin; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He graduated from Georgetown University with a Medical Degree in Radiology. Doc served in the U.S. Army, holding the rank CPT and is a Vietnam veteran. Services will be private at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
Kelly David Hoover, 63, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Richard S. and Cecelia L. “Silkie” (Imler) Hoover. Surviving are a son, David A. Hoover (Francine) of Shippensburg; and four grandchildren: Brunie, Guichelle, Chloe and Elijah. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell. Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday, March 22, 2025, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, with Mr. Daniel Horton officiating.
