Dolores M. Lowery, 87, of Little River S.C., formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Vinton C. Pietsch and Grace E. (Kleffel) Pietsch.
On Dec. 23, 1954, she married Ralph D. "Pean" Lowery, who preceded her in death in 2015.
Dolores is survived by her children: Mark (Sandra), Diane Joseph, Michael (Mary) and Denise (Thomas) Gomrick. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Tristan (Susannah Brower), Heather (Ryan) Bousquet, Rachel (Micah) Howard, Jonathan Joseph, Megan (Ryan) Ackley, Shannon (Peter) Shoemaker, Zachary (Eden) Gomrick and Danielle Gomrick; and five great-grandchildren: Emilynn, Aliana and Briella Bousquet and Cassius and Phoenix Howard.
Dolores was preceded in death by a brother, David Pietsch.
Dolores was a 1955 graduate of Altoona High School. Before retirement, she worked for the Blair County Department of Social Services and the American Red Cross. Dolores previously served as Worthy Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star. Before moving to South Carolina in 2023, she attended First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
