George I. Peckowycz

George I. Peckowycz, 68, of Altoona, died Tuesday at Penn Highlands, Tyrone. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harry and Magdalene (Plishko) Peckowycz. Surviving is a son, Mark Morgan. George was a heavy equipment operator and a mechanic. He was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and loved working on automobiles. Private services will be held by Father James Davidson at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Altoona. Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.

Thomas J. Burke, 78, of Roaring Spring, passed away Sunday. He was born in Dudley, son of the late Mary L. (Howells) and Cletus J. Burke. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Cletus Burke Jr. On Sept. 18, 1965, he married his wife, Bonnie, who survives; along with children, Tracie (Darrin) Whysong and Mark T. (Judith) Burke; a sister, Wanda (Mark) Miller; granddaughters, Kierstin Whysong and Payton (Morgan) Deremer; and great-grandchildren, Kyrie Beck Fochtman and Adley Deremer.
