Sharon K. (Miner) Howe, 65, of Altoona, passed away Monday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas and Kay (Miller) Miner. Her husband, Edward Howe II, also preceded her in death. James Joseph “JJ” Johnston Sr., 65, of Woodbridge, Va., lost his hard-fought battle with cancer on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025. JJ passed peacefully in his sleep with his wife, Sandy, by his side.
