Jocelynn Morgan
Age and school: 15, Southern Huntingdon County School District
Family: Parent, Eileen Morgan; siblings: Jaxson, Mason, Alexis and Bryce Morgan
FFA chapter: Southern Huntingdon County FFA
Years involved with FFA: I have been involved with FFA for two years.
FFA projects: I do market steers for my projects.
Favorite FFA memory: My favorite memories from FFA are all the tailgates on Friday nights before home football games, where everyone in FFA, the marching band and other activities meet after school in the Ag room. We play games outside like volleyball, beanbag toss and others, while eating a bunch of food and dancing until we get sick.
FFA accomplishments: I got my Discovery degree and an area in Veterinary Science; this year I will be getting my greenhand degree.
How has FFA prepared you for your future aspirations: FFA has taught me a lot about farming, animal, soil and plant science, Ag business, marketing, law, policy and a whole lot more. My future goals consist of working/living on my family farm, raising and selling beef cattle, going to either college or trade school and teaching others around me about how farming has an impact on our daily lives. I also want to teach others about farm animals, like the food they eat, the material they provide for us and their unique traits.
Quote: “FFA is not just about farming, it teaches others about building confidence, leadership and responsibility through hands-on experience in students who want to make a difference.”
