STATE COLLEGE — Big Chicken has announced plans to open its first location in central Pennsylvania.

The restaurant will open in the oLiv Hetzel building at 480 E. College Ave. in downtown State College.

Big Chicken is a fast-casual chicken concept founded by NBA legend and Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.

Big Chicken’s core menu includes a lineup of crispy or grilled chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and wings, salads, crinkle-cut fries and mac and cheese and 10 different milkshakes and ice cream sundaes.

The restaurant is expected to open by the start of Penn State’s fall 2025 semester.

Comcast upgrades internet speeds

PHILADELPHIA — Comcast has upgraded Xfinity Internet speeds for more than 20 million customers for no additional cost.

Xfinity Internet tiers, and the NOW branded prepaid products, will benefit from 50 to 100 percent faster upload speeds than before, helping customers upload large files quicker. Download speeds will also increase for most tiers.
