Airline is considering bringing services to State College airport

STATE COLLEGE — Breeze Airways, a promising new airline carrier, is actively considering bringing service to State College Regional Airport this fall, according to the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County and the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau.

The community is initially seeking direct flights from State College to Orlando International Airport twice weekly, with the possibility of additional flights to Orlando or other sought-after destinations in the near future, according to a joint letter to the community from the two organizations.

“To solidify our community’s proposal, initiated by investors including CBICC and HVAB, Breeze Airways has asked us to demonstrate clear and strong community support for the flight service by July 15. We are inviting residents, businesses, students and local organizations who are interested in this potential flight service to show their commitment by making a non-binding pledge to fly Breeze Airways, along with an estimated annual number of flights. Your pledge will powerfully demonstrate our collective readiness and enthusiasm for enhanced air service options,” according to the letter signed by Gregory A. Scott, president/CEO of the chamber, and Fritz Smith, president/CEO of the Happy Valley bureau.

The organizations are looking for people to comment on how Breeze Airways’ proposed flight to Orlando International Airport would impact them personally, their family or their business.

Starting at $2.99/week.
