A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 7:30 a.m. today, Friday, May 1, at the Saxton Giant. The store, formerly Saxton Market, will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

The store has been remodeled and will include a market-feel produce department, meat and seafood, deli with pre-sliced meats and cheese plus deli salads, dairy and a bakery featuring self-serve donuts.

The store will also feature a larger hot food program, including self-serve rotisserie chicken and the addition of self-checkouts. Giant Direct is also available, which gives customers the opportunity to order their groceries online for easy curbside pick-up.

The Saxton Giant is celebrating its opening by donating to the following organizations that are building healthier communities — Center for Community Action — Hopewell Food Pantry, Saxton Volunteer Fire Company​, Saxton Borough Police Department​, Tussey Mountain School District and Tussey Mountain Little League.
