TYRONE -?The Dance Fusion Competition Team had an award-winning 2013-14 season.

The team attended three regional competitions this season: NexStar National Talent Competition in Lancaster, Groove National Dance Competition in Lititz and Celebration Talent Competition in Johnstown.

The team competed with 28 dances in the styles of: jazz, musical theater, hip-hop, modern, contemporary, lyrical and tap.

“Jealous of My Boogie” received a high gold medal for team production, choreographed by Tessa Rossi.

Judges Awards: Showstopper Award (Celebration), Choreography Award (NexStar).

Top Placement: second place overall production/line (Groove), third place overall production/line (NexStar).

“Bend and Snap” received a high gold medal for senior musical theater, choreographed by Lindsay Pullara.

Top Placement: fourth place overall senior large groups (NexStar) .

“Clue” received a high gold medal for teen character jazz, choreographed by Tessa Rossi.

Judges Awards: Judges Choice Award (Celebration).

Top Placement: ninth place overall teen small groups (NexStar).

“Calendar Girls” received a high gold medal for junior jazz, choreographed by Tessa Rossi.

Judges Awards: “Wild About You” Wild Dance Intensive Scholarship for Excellence in Performance & Choreography (NexStar).

Top Placement: 10th place overall junior large groups (NexStar).

“Centerfield” received a high gold medal for small fry jazz, choreographed by Lindsay Pullara.

Judges Awards: “Baseball Beauties” Award (NexStar).

Top Placement: first place overall Rising Star Division (Celebration), seventh place PreStar 8 and younger small groups (NexStar).

“Beastie Girls” received a high gold medal for hip-hop super group, choreographed by Lindsay Pullara.

Top Placement: fourth place overall production/line (NexStar).

“Lip Gloss” received a high gold medal for small fry hip-hop, choreographed by Stephanie Lynn.

Judges Awards: Judges Choice Award (Celebration).

Top Placement: seventh place overall small group 8 and younger (NexStar)

“Cuckoo!” received a high gold medal for modern, choreographed by Ana Rossi.

Judges Awards: Choreography Award (Celebration).

Top Placement: eighth place overall teen small groups (NexStar).

“Call It Off” received a high gold medal for teen contemporary, choreographed by Ana Rossi.

“Can’t Help Falling” received a high gold medal for senior lyrical, choreographed by Jennifer Harry.

Top Placement: seventh place overall senior small groups (NexStar).

“I?Feel Pretty” received a high gold medal for teen lyrical, choreographed by Mara Poorman.

Judges Awards: “Pretty & Stunning” Award (NexStar).

“Worn” received a high gold medal for junior lyrical, choreographed by Jennifer Harry.

Top Placement: second place overall Shining Star Division (Celebration), sixth place overall junior small groups (NexStar).

Dance Fusion presented its annual recital “Let’s Get Down and Boogie” on May 23 and 24 at Tyrone Area High School.
