Former Fauci adviser indicted
WASHINGTON — A former senior adviser to Dr. Anthony Fauci has been indicted on federal charges alleging he conspired to hide his communications related to COVID-19 research as the pandemic unfolded.
The Justice Department on Tuesday accused 78-year-old Dr. David Morens of using his private email account to intentionally circumvent public record laws while employed at the National Institutes of Health. It accuses him of evading transparency laws while having discussions related to COVID-19 research grants, including an effort to revive a controversial coronavirus grant.

Man pleads guilty to plotting concert attack
WIENER NEUSTADT — A man accused of plotting to attack one of superstar singer Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna nearly two years ago has pleaded guilty as his trial began on Tuesday.
The plot was thwarted, but Austrian authorities still canceled Swift’s three planned performances in August 2024.

Man arrested for alleged shooting
ATHENS — Greek authorities say several people have been wounded after a gunman opened fire at a social security office and at a courthouse in central Athens.
Police said they arrested the 89-year-old suspect near the city of Patra, some 130 miles west of the Greek capital.
