GREENSBORO, N.C. — Lanee Berkhimer, who just graduated from Central, won the 2-mile race at the Adidas Track Nationals in 11:03.92 Friday at the Marcus T. Johnson Track Complex.
Berkhimer held off Aimery Coffey, a sophomore from Lake Norman Charter School, who finished in 11:07.12 and Forest Hills’ Bella Ascherl, who was third.
Also on Friday, Hollidaysburg’s Devin Walters won the long jump and set a new meet record in the Freshman Elite Division with a jump of 23 feet, 2 inches.
The team of Walters, Brooklyn Boggetta, Braelyn Ross and Sydney Ulery placed seventh in the mixed 1600-meter championship Elite Division with a time of 3:44.58.
Berkhimer and Walters were both Altoona Mirror first-team track and field all-stars this spring and qualified for the state championships.
