Kamzik pitches, hits Lady Red Devils to victory

BEDFORD — Kami Kamzik pitched a five-inning one-hitter and belted a two-run home run to lead unbeaten Central Cambria to a 12-1 win over Bedford in high school softball action on Wednesday. Mia Ruddek and Jordan Krawcion each had two hits and scored two runs, and Aubrey Ruddek scored twice. Liz Marta had Bedford’s only hit in the fifth inning. McCONNELLSBURG — Emalee Cavender went 7-for-7 with a home run, three doubles and four RBIs in a doubleheader as Claysburg-Kimmel beat McConnellsburg, 11-0, and 12-0, in high school softball action on Monday. Cavender also pitched three shutout innings. Rebekah Claar, Nevaeh Walter and Jenna Helsel each drove in three runs in the opener, and Walter, Sierra Walters and Hayden Lamborn each drove in two in the nightcap.
