PORTAGE — The Central Cambria High School softball team won the Mustang Classic on Saturday, beating Portage, 12-0, in the final, and Clearfield, 4-0, in the semifinals. In the final, Kami Kamzik, Aubrey Ruddek and Keira Link combined on a five-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts. Kamzik also homered twice and teammate Olivia Janosik had two hits, including a home run. In the opener, Kamzik struck out 16 en route to a victory. She walked one while giving up just two hits. The Mirror is seeking nominations for its annual high school sports recognition program. Area high schools are invited to submit nominations for the Ron Rickens Sportsmanship Awards, the Dean Rossi Leadership Award and the Erin (Johnson) Kelly Award, which recognizes the area high school athlete who has overcome the most adversity. The Rickens awards, which honor a deserving male and female athlete, are presented in memory of former local coach and referee Ron Rickens.
