Tyrone lands two on 2A volleyball team

Tyrone’s Kylee Nelson and Madelyn Rockwell were named to the first team of the District 6 Class 2A girls volleyball all-district teams released recently by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association. In addition to the Lady Eagles honored, Philipsburg-Osceola’s Reese Hazelton, Sophie Granville and Ava Ropert also made the first team along with Northern Cambria’s Lauren McCombie. Area tennis players begin PIAA state play today

HERSHEY — Hollidaysburg senior Megan Ferris and freshman Crosby Denis will begin play in the PIAA Class 3A Girls Doubles Tennis Championships at 10 a.m. Friday. Ferris and Denis, the District 6 champions, will face Spring-Ford seniors Mia Matriccino and Evelyn Mejia, District 1’s third seed, in the first round at the Hershey Racquet Club.
