CRESSON — The Central Cambria boys and girls defeated Penn Cambria, 15-50, in high school cross country action on Wednesday. Dom Kuntz finished in 17 minutes, 46 seconds to win the boys race and was followed by teammates Ethan Haycisak, Derek McConnell, Reed Takacs and Max Cafazza. EBENSBURG — The Central Cambria team and nine golfers from the Mirror core coverage area advanced from the District 6 Class 2A boys golf sectionals at Ebensburg Country Club on Wednesday. Golden Tiger ties for first place at golf sectionals

TYRONE — Hollidaysburg’s Isaac Miller tied State College’s Luke McGraw for first place by carding a 73 at the District 6 Class 3A sectional golf competition at Sinking Valley Country Club on Tuesday. Miller, who finished as the runner-up in the District 6 championship last year to advance to states, was 1-over par on a very wet day and led the Golden Tigers to a second-place finish as a team. Ritchey, Ratchford are set to meet for tennis title

Top-seeded Julia Ritchey of Central and second seed Marley Ratchford of Central Cambria will meet Wednesday for the District 6 Class 2A singles championship as they earned two victories apiece on Monday morning at Summit Athletic Club to set up a rematch of last year’s title match.
