Central High School's doubles team of Kate Dunn and Zoe Grill pulled off two upsets over seeded teams on Monday at the Summit Athletic Club to advance to the District 6 Class 2A Doubles Tennis Championship.
The Lady Scarlet Dragons duo will face third-seeded Allie Morgan and Taryn Ream of Central Cambria in the final at noon Wednesday.
Dunn and Grill got past the Celina Hong-Isabelle Parrish team from Westmont Hilltop, 6-2, 6-4, in the round of 16 before knocking out Bishop McCort's fourth-seeded team of Julia Vittone and Kira Ocheltree, 7-6 (6-1), 6-2, in the quarterfinals.
The Central juniors entered the semifinals and knocked off top-seeded Marley Ratchford and Lydia Paskowski of Central Cambria, 6-3, 6-3.
Morgan and Ream had no trouble with Huntingdon's Rachel Boonie and Reagan Orenshaw, 6-0, 6-0, in the first round or Westmont Hilltop's Caridy Arnold and Lily Evans, 6-0, 6-1, in the quarterfinals.
The Lady Red Devils senior-sophomore team then upset the second-seeded Tyrone combo of Nicole Ramsey and Emma Witkamp, 6-2, 6-3, in the semifinals.
